Indiana Statewide Independent Living Council Seeking New Members!
Are you passionate about disability rights and creating a more accessible Indiana? The Indiana Statewide Independent Living Council (INSILC) is looking for new council members to help lead and shape the future of independent living across the state.
INSILC council members play a vital role in shaping policies, guiding statewide planning, and amplifying the voices of Hoosiers with disabilities. Your lived experience and unique perspective are not just welcome—they’re essential. Members attend four public meetings a year, contribute to one committee or work team, and assist in the development of the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL). The estimated yearly time commitment is less than two days, and most meetings can be attended virtually.
We are especially seeking individuals who believe in consumer control and self-determination. If you value collaboration, integrity, and the power of peer support, we encourage you to apply. Join INSILC and help drive meaningful change while building a stronger, more accessible Indiana for all. Learn more below and apply by August 25, 2025.
