At the Indiana Statewide Independent Living Council (INSILC), our mission is to empower people with disabilities to lead and control their own lives and to advance independence, inclusion, and equal access throughout Indiana. We partner with Centers for Independent Living and community stakeholders to develop and monitor the State Plan for Independent Living (SPIL) and support efforts that remove barriers and create opportunities for all. Public Comment Dashboard
INSILC is committed to transparency and continuous improvement. The Public Comment Dashboard allows the public to view comments shared during INSILC public meetings and see how those comments are addressed.
The dashboard includes individual public comments, the meeting where they occurred, links to full transcripts, and INSILC’s responses or follow-up actions. It also provides a compiled summary of comment themes across meetings to help show patterns in public feedback and how that input informs INSILC’s work.

Continuous Input Process
What Happens with Public Input?
INSILC’s Continuous Input Process describes how public input is handled from collection to implementation. Once a set of comments or data goes through all seven steps, the process begins again with another set of input. Questions about this process can be emailed to Info@IndianaSILC.org.
1. GET INPUT
Public input is gathered through multiple accessible methods, listed above on this webpage.
2. DOCUMENT
All input and comments are documented in the Public Comment Dashboard, which can be accessed above on this webpage.
3. ANALYZE
INSILC’s Data Workgroup will analyze all input and data and organize it by theme and determine the needs identified from the input.
4. REVIEW
The State Plan Committee will review the input and data along with the workgroup’s analysis.
5. DECIDE
The State Plan Committee will decide how to apply the input and data either into the development of the State Plan for Independent Living or into INSILC’s activities. Both the Review and Decide steps of the process will take place during public State Plan Committee meetings.
6. ACT
Decisions made by the State Plan Committee are put into action by INSILC staff and workgroups.
7. REPORT
INSILC will publish reports that explain how and where input will be addressed.
