Hear directly from Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry, Evansville City Councilor Ben Trockman, and State Representative Alex Burton and take the opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences. Topics will include healthcare, transportation, and other key issues that matter most to Hoosiers with disabilities in the Evansville region.

What Is Independent Living?

 

Independent Living refers to the philosophy that people with disabilities should be able to make decisions that affect their own lives. IL also refers to a civil rights movement that advocates for equal participation in community life, and a service system made up of centers for independent living, INSILC, and state partners.
